This month is a great time for past Consultants to rejoin Close To My Heart for a low fee. Former Consultants who enroll during the month of August have the opportunity to pick from either an "essentials" version of the New Consultant Kit for $49 USD or a regular New Consultant Kit for $129 USD.
The "essentials" kit features business building items such as order forms, idea books, and paper swatches to help you get your new business off to a great start.Plus you will receive a Zoe Workshop on the Go®!

Man Cards Jackson Style

Announcing the Workshop for this Month!

It's all about man cards. It's so hard to make a good man card. Glitter and glitz is often just not acceptable to the manly man. Which leaves me stuck. What good is a card with no glitter and jazzy stuff???

This month I played with the Jackson Workshop Kit and came up with my own theme. The kit comes with everything you need to make 10 beautiful, er I mean studly cards:

This is the first card. Obviously you won't need 5 of the same card so you can choose from other sayings, like happy birthday. Good thing since you can never have too many manly man birthday cards.

The second card I made is another card with Jackson paper and it is really fun and simple to make. And so manly.

For the month of June I am offering a 10 Card Man Card Workshop for just $10.00. If you are interested in receiving the kit or learning more about my classes and offerings, just leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

Who says making a man card has to be boring?
Come and play in the Stamp Studio!

Sneak Peak at June . . . Shhhh!

I've never been able to keep a secret . . . I blab exciting news like a great big stooly pigeon. Shine the light on me and I sing all the secrets. So here it is.

I'm planning fun MAN CARDS for June workshops. That's right. Man Cards. The dreaded word in cardmaking circles. Impossible to make, because defying logic manly cards do not have glitter, or bows, or bedeckled sequins. Nope, man cards are boring.

So I searched and found the perfect cards for us to make (I see we can sneak a sequin on, in a manly way, of course. Using manly Jackson paper, which is oh so manly, I've found the perfect cards for us to make for that special manly man in our lives.

Jackson paper is a pack of coordinating decorative paper and cardstock in rich tones of Barn Red, Glacier, Cocoa, and Juniper.

Here are pictures of the cards we will be making . . .

Beautiful cards, to be sure, but instead of these sayings, we will be using the ever so versatile Holiday Tags Stamp Set shown here:
You could pick anything from a Thank You to Happy Birthday to even Father's Day. Wahoo!

Classes will be announced soon, as well as the price. Super fun. Super easy. Your manly man will love his man card. Guaranteed.

Hope to see you in the Stamp Studio soon!

Blossom!!!!

The weather today is blurry . . . cold and rainy and no sun in sight which makes working with springy, bright paper even more fun! Today is my evening scrapbook workshop for Blossom. The kit is just $6.50 and you can either come to tonight's workshop at 6:00 p.m. or come on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. OR you can order it to be done at home and I'll put that together for you too!

Easy, easy! PLUS, this is exciting, if you follow the cutting directions you actually will have leftover material to make another page or cards or . . . you know, any papercrafting project you have in mind.

I'm using my leftovers to make some Springy cards. That's what needs to be done on a rainy, blurry May day. Come on rain, bring it on!
Here are some cute samples of cards I'm going to stamp lift today (totally legal). Fun and easy! I'm going to use my scraps from the kit and leftover sequins and twine. Fun, fun!

Here's a picture of the layout the kit makes:
Let me know if you are interested in the kit in the comments below and I'll get it right out to you or sign you up for a class. It's fun to stamp with friends!

Obsessed with Artfully Sent

I am completely obsessed with making cards using the "Artfully Sent" Cricut Cartridge, only available through Close To My Heart. Maybe I could even say I am addicted to making cards with this cartridge.

I was a little daunted when I first purchased the cartridge and it's been sitting on my bookshelf for months. The whole issue of making a card using the Cricut, was just not something I've a lot of experience doing. I mean, I'm used to cutting things out to PUT on a card or cutting out letters or numbers to PUT on a card, but to use it to completely make a card seemed . . . well, hard to figure out.

So last week I sat down with my Cricut booklet and did a search on Pinterest (my other addiction) and I searched for cards made with Artfully Sent. Oh my goodness. So much talent! These first few cards are renditions of cards I found there and, unfortunately I did not write the names down of the original artist, but I did change some things around here and there and I did use different colors, except for the fox card. Stamp lifted that one, or should I say Cricut lifted that one?

I wasted a lot of white paper and figured out a lot of dimensional things and ways to fold the cards correctly and, in general, I was in experiment mode. Here are my first successful attempts: (I apologize for the strange shadowing on the cards, the upload squished them for me. So nice of you Yahoo!)

I plan on more experimenting (although I can really say now that it's more "playing" than experimenting) and I will post my endeavors here. I still have some things to learn, but basically that darn cartridge can make so many different cards I can't count them! And so easy too!

If you buy a cartridge from me, I'd be oh, so happy, to sit down with you and share my knowledge. Now I'm off, there's a cute princess card I want to make!
